1 Click Root For Samsung Epic 4G

Similar to the 1 Click root for Samsung Galaxy S as well as HTC Android one click root Unrevoked,  we now have one click root for Samsung Epic 4G. Most Android phones that were rooted earlier such as Motorola Droid, Motorola CLIQ, Nexus One, HTC Desire, Motorola Milestone had elaborate methods, not convenient for beginners. With the current 1 click root trend, any one can root their Android mobile.

root-samsung-epic-4gHere is how you can root your Samsung Epic 4G Android phone.

1. Download Epic 4G one click root and extract the zip file (link at bottom).

2. Put your phone in USB debug mode, which can be enabled by checking the USB debugging option in Menu –> Settings –> Applications –> Development.

3. Now connect the device to your PC via USB cable and run the run.bat file in the folder you just extracted.

That’s it. Let the rooting process complete and your phone to reboot. You will have a fully rooted Epic 4G.

The latest version of the one click root for Epic 4G (v2.2.4) includes BusyBox and the remount script which fixes Sprint animation not showing problem.

What are the benifits of rooting my Epic 4G?

    • dkszone says:

      @Ozzie
Rooting gives you the ability to install custom ROMs.
For instance rooting lets you install the HTC sense UI on your Nexus One, which is otherwise not possible.

  12. jordan says:

Chris, how did you get it to root your phone,I’ve tred this many of times and I’ve been unsuccessful?please tell me how exactly cuz I haven’t gotten any support from dkszone,so I doubt you will either.why did you root your phone if you have no use for it?its preety much just for installing custom ROMS on the epic.I wish I could help you but if u wish to unroot your phone id find a different website thatb will help you do it manually.please let me know exactly how the hell you did it.thanks

    • chris says:

      Jordan,

I followed it exactly as it says to. It took like 3 tries but when it sa[s the thing about 60sec. The st time I let it do it on its own and go nothing. The 2nd try I shut off my phone then turned it on then the 3rd time I opened the .bat folder when it said it then it worked perfect. Try that.

    • karyn says:

Chris, there is an unroot download here on the site. Just do a search.. I haven’t tried it,but I assume it will be helpful. Also, once you have rooted your phone you can add tethering software which will allow you to use your phone as a wireless router for up to 8 devices, such as computers, an ipad or ipod, etc.

  13. Tmspyder says:

So it ran.. never did get a “super users” icon BUT…
Titanium did allow me to uninstall the sprint apps i never wanted .. so I’m assuming it IS rooted or i would not have access to those

My phone never rebooted…. and I see nothing that gives me the impression that it worked….

    • jordan says:

Mia,this root didn’t work on my epic either.I tried everything.sometimes it woul reboot sometimes it wouldn’t. Don’t keep trying to do it though because I did and now my phones not right. When I turn on my phone the galaxy s icon doesn’t appear nemore and its just blank till it turns on. My phone still works but it messed somthing up.don’t bother asking for support because dkszone don’t reply to these post. Try a different website where you do it manually, that’s what I suggest. Dkszone!!!!! Wtf is goen on with this so called 1 click root? Take this off your website because it don’t work! You could atleast pretend to try to help or lead someone in the right direction.maybe you have to have a certain firmware?

  15. Mia says:

thanks Jordan you are soooooooo right….I didn’t try anymore however last night my phone started going crazy I ended up having to do a master reset this morning… I am good on the root thing… can’t miss what I didn’t have

  16. Alan says:

After i rooted, the phone asked for an update which i messed up and accepted and now my phone updated and rooted is not possible, ever worse, when i connect my phone in debug mode, the phone is not read, it says that USB CANNOT BE FOUND or something like that, like it does not recognize it, i tried reinstalling the drivers and plugging it again and nothing.. tried also on XP, Vista and Win 7, i think i’m doing something wrong, can anyone help me? greatly appreciate it!

  17. fabain says:

I have tried to root my samsung epic phone and i keep on getting a error message when i open the run.bat the error message pops up it says rageagaintthecage-arm5.bin is missing make sure you extracted the archive correctly. please help

  18. Chris says:

Hi Fabain, I ran across this same problem as well. Turns out I had Kaspersky (anti-virus) running in the background and it doesn’t play well with the rageagainstthecage file, it detects it as being some sort of virus or something and automatically deletes it when you try running run.bat. Disable your antivirus for a few seconds and try running it again, worked like a charm here.

  19. Shivah says:

    worked perfectly for me,
just a couple of things to do
    1. install the drivers for the epic on your computer before you connect it via usb

    2. really make sure you have debugging on on your phone

3.disable lookout if you have it installed on your phone (just app kill it)

    run the bat

that seemed to do it for me.

    worked perfectly then.

  20. Dean says:

I can get the phone to go into recovery mode but the instructions are wrong and there is no option of “reinstall packages” as it states. Only update.zip, but then it fails. Have to reboot. This doesn’t work as far as I’m concerned.

  21. Erica says:

can anyone tell me why this folder wont delete off of my laptop??? keeps saying its being run in another application.

    • dkszone says:

The folder is locked by some running process. Close all programs including browser and try deleting it.
If it’s still there, reboot your PC and try deleting it.
Finally, if nothing works out, head to our article on How to delete locked folders.

  22. Moe says:

Could you answer the question everyone has pretty much asked? Why does adb devices not list my phone. I have the Epic, I installed the samsung drivers, installed JRE, installed ADB sdk, and installed samsung drivers onto my phone. Instead of answering a simple question, why don’t you address the issue that has to deal with the original post? If not remove this post or have someone with actual experience and is willing to help.

  23. Courtney says:

I couldn’t get their version to work, but I did find another one click that DID work on the very first try! “http://firon.net/xda/one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5.zip”

    give this a shot!

  24. Urbal says:

Why would someone go through the process of rooting if you have no idea the benefits of rooting? Makes NO sense.

  25. Matt says:

    Step #3 is missing something.
After connecting the USB you have to go to the phone and mount the device.

  26. Darlinda says:

My phone is not rooting and when I press the power key, it doesn’t do anything! it’s stuck on that screen and I can’t get my normal phone screen back. Please help!!

i want to unroot my samsung epic i downloaded the one click unroot and it will not unroot keeps said failed any help.

  28. Hemi1500 says:

How do you root an epic already running Gingerbread 2.3.3; Build EF02?
I have tried odin3 v1.81 and was partially successful until I received a ‘phone not found ‘ error. Plugging/unplugging did no good. I was using onboard usb ports; computer OS Win 7; latest Samsung drivers installed and adk running.
I’d appreciate a ‘rooting for dummies’ guide approach.
    THANKS!

  29. Joshuarbon says:

Tried to run it and it states that it is unable to mount and what not.. any ideas?
