Android 3.0 Honeycomb Preview SDK Tools Released
The next major thing for Android will be the release of Android 3.0 Honeycomb based android devices. Google has released a preview of the Android 3.0 SDK, with non-final APIs and system image to allow developers to start testing their applications on the new platform.
Android 3.0 Honeycomb will be a android platform designed for devices with larger screen-size like the tablets. So devices like Galaxy tab will benefit to a large extent. Honeycomb will have multitasking, push-notifications, widgets and many other new features.
The preview SDK release is available in the form of update to the current SDK package. You can download it from the SDK Manager. In the release notes, Google added that the apps developed for Honeycomb will not yet be available in Android market. This SDK package will certainly help developers in fixing problems their current apps may face on the new platform.
