If you have a Bluetooth enabled mobile device, you may want to backup or save your phone data such as Contacts, Calendar, Email messages, Notes, etc to your PC. While some phone manufacturers provide an easy to use connectivity suite, not all of them have one. This is when the Bluetooth connectivity features of Windows 7 come to rescue.

Below are the steps to backup as well as restore Contacts, Calendar information of Bluetooth enabled phone to/from your Windows 7 PC. Before you go ahead, first pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone with Windows 7 PC.

1. After pairing your phone with Computer, open Start Menu –> Devices and Printers. For this article, we have paired Sony Ericsson W580i with our Windows 7 PC.

2. Double click on your Bluetooth device’s icon to open it’s operations and settings dialog.

3. Now click on ‘Back up contacts and calendar information from your phone’. Select all those items that you want to backup and save on your Computer. Depending on your mobile phone’s support as well as availability of data, you may find that some items are not supported.

Click ‘Back Up Selected Items’.

4. Now you may find your Bluetooth device asking you to confirm the access to the selected items. Select ‘Allow’ when asked for permission.

5. Once the backup is successful, you will see a message which says so.

That’s it. You now have a copy of all your phone’s data on your hard disk.

How To Restore Contacts, Calendar, Email Messages, Notes From Bluetooth Device To Windows 7 PC

1. Pair your Bluetooth device with Windows 7 PC and repeat step 1 of the Backup instructions above to open the Bluetooth device’s operations and settings dialog.

2. Click on ‘Restore backed-up contacts and calendar information to your phone’.  This will open the ‘Restore Items to phone’ dialog, which shows all the previously made device backups.

3. Select the backup that you want to restore your phone to. Next, select the items you want to restore by clicking on ‘Select all’.

4. Click ‘Restore’, and you will have all your data back on your device.
