Canon announces two new iVIS HD Camcorders

Canon has announced two new camcorders in the high definition(HD) video segment that have 64 GB of internal memory. The iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11, both adhere to the AVCHD 24 Mbps standard and are expected to hit the market in August 2009. They support SD and SHDC cards up to 32GB. The price tag for both the gadgets is yet to be released.

Of the two devices, iVIS HF21 is a compact full HD video recording camcorder with 15x optical zoom. It gives highly accurate focusing at high speds and also does face detection in full motion. It includes the "underwater" and "floating" modes, with the "underwater" mode letting you take pictures in their natural colors, there by avoiding "bluish" images.

The iVIS HF S11 is the higher end model with high quality and performance. It has 10x optical zoom and uses the "DIGIC DV III" video engine and includes a variety of features for professional recording.
