Microsoft plans to release Office 2010, the latest version of it’s popular Office Suite, in time with the release of Windows 7. A marketing campaign has already been kick started to publicize Office 2010. Microsoft is promoting Office 2010 like a Hollywood movie, the website for the product not only being called Office 2010 The Movie but also designed like a Hollywood movie promotional site with Cast & Crew and X-Files style wallpaper.

The ad resembles a teaser for a hollywood movie with action, adventure and even explosions! You will need Microsoft Silverlight to view this video on Microsoft’s site.

A technical preview of Office 2010 was expected in July 2009. However Microsoft has not yet announced any date for this preview. The Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview is a limited, invitation only program which will provide you with the opportunity to experience early, pre-release versions of Office 2010. You can register for this program to get considered for the invitation at Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview Registration Site. Invitees will be notified by the mid of July 2009.
