The technical preview of Microsoft’s Office 2010 has taken place today at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference 2009. A hollywood movie like advertising campaign has already been kicked off by Microsoft to promote Office 2010. People who receive invitations from Microsoft would be able to test the Office as well as Visio 2010 Technical Preview program.

A major enhancement in Office 2010 is the Office Web Applications, the online version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Seen as a future competition to Google Docs, these online applications give users access to their work from anywhere and also sharing and collaborating features. Some other new features are broadcasting capability in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 and a new data visualization feature ‘Sparklines‘ in Microsoft Excel 2010.
