Close All Multitasking Apps On iPhone With Single Tap Using SBSettings Toggle

iOS 4.0 has brought multitasking to everyone without the need for jailbreaking and installing apps such as ProSwitcher. For the still unaware, you can now view all background applications in the Task Switcher (multitasking tray) on your iOS 4.x device by hitting the Home button twice.

You can then switch between the background apps by tapping on the application’s icon. Say you want to quickly close all the background apps at one go. You will then have to tediously tap each app icon, hold it till you see the close button (minus symbol) and then carefully tap on this little button to close the app.  What a waste of time if you want to quickly want to kill all the apps and speed up your iPhone.

All you busy users, here is yet another reason to jailbreak your device. The Cydia app SBSettings has now a toggle called Remove Background, that lets you kill all multitasking apps with a single tap. First install SBSettings if you don’t have it already before installing the Remove Background toggle. You can find SBSettings and it’s toggles (such as SBSettings Data Toggle), in the BigBoss repository in Cydia.

Launch Cydia and search for ‘Remove Background SBSettings Toggle’.  Then install the toggle, which will then show up on your SBSettings screen.
