Create Stunning Photo Mosaics Easily with Free AndreaMosaic

Do you have a big stock of family and vacation photos, a liking for mosaic art and a bit of artistic flair? You can start creating beautiful photomosaics of your images right away with AndreaMosaic. This free photo mosaic maker for Windows is designed to create mosaics of JPG images, all with a few clicks and no prerequisite image editing knowledge. AndreaMosaic has an intuitive interface, making it easy for even basic users to turn their holiday photos into marvelous mosaics to be gifted to loved ones or for their own desktop wallpapers.

Photo Mosaics are created by tiling many small sized images
which are chosen and arranged in such a pattern that the resulting
large image reflects the original one. See the above image which has
been created using AndreaMosaic with 1000 tiles taken from 300
images. Experiment with the number of mosaic tiles, tile repetition and
tile images to get either a realistic or pixelated effect for your
mosaic.

Drag and drop the original image for which you want to create a mosaic on to the program’s main window and choose the mosaic settings on the left side. AndreaMosaic lets you specify the overall size of the Mosaic (A4,A3, etc), resolution, mosaic tile size, pattern, color change etc.

The number of tiles needed is automatically calculated by AndreaMosaic and displayed under the Mosaic Information, which can be viewed in pixels, cm, inch, or tiles. If you want to further fine tune your mosaic, then go to ‘More Options’. Here you can even choose to get a HTML file output of your mosaic with zoom-in capability for the individual image tiles.

Images to be used as tiles for the mosaic can be added by clicking ‘Select Tiles’. For ease of use, save all your images (JPEG format) in folders and add them to the list. AndreaMosaic even lets you extract frames from a video file and use them as tiles. Once the folders are added, hit ‘Save Archive’ to make AndreaMosaic scan all the images and make a database file (ACM format) out of it. Saved archives can be reused later.
