OpenEclair is a new community based ROM, based on Android 2.1 Eclair source code. The project is hosted on Google Code, and is supported by many developers as well as helpers for issue tracking and forum moderation. OpenEclair aims to bring some extra features to Android 2.1 Eclair OS on phones, including HTC Magic, T-Mobile G1, and T-Mobile MyTouch 3G.

OpenEclair brings Nexus One voice input, animated wallpapers, partially functional 3D gallery, a 10MB RAM hack, Compcache and Swap via SpareParts, automatic Apps2SD on G1, 5 screen launcher, and optimized launcher to your Android 2.1 phone. The latest version 1.1.5, which is still in Beta, adds Overclocking to 580MHz by default, MT Maps from Nexus One update, and some bug fixes from Nexus One MSM Kernel.
