Download PwnageTool 4.1.3 Unlock Edition

PwnageTool 4.1.3 unlock edition has been released by the iPhone Dev Team. This version of PwnageTool lets you create a custom firmware for iOS 4.2.1 and iOS 4.1 with 06.15.00 baseband taken from iPad 3.2.2 firmware. iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G users who want to unlock their device on baseband 05.14.02 or higher need to first update their baseband to 06.15.00 using PwnageTool 4.1.3.

Confusing? Well let us try to explain a bit further before going ahead with the tutorial. Sherif Hashim, the iPhone hacker has discovered a crash in the AT+XAPP command on iPad 3.2.2 which has a baseband 06.15.00. This bb version is higher than the current unlockable baseband 05.14.02 of iPhone 3GS & 3G. So you upgrade your baseband first to 06.15.00 (which is possible) and then unlock it on this higher baseband.

Here is a guide to update your iPhone 3GS or 3G to baseband 06.15.00 using PwnageTool 4.1.3.

Update iPhone 3GS, 3G Baseband to 06.15.00 Using PwnageTool 4.1.3

After updating your iPhone 3GS/3G baseband from 05.14.00 to 06.15.00 go ahead and unlock it:

I have a 3g on the same iOS and baseband. Wish I could upgrade to 4.1 but so far, nothing I have done has worked. I read somewhere that apple is not signing some iOS versions anymore, therefore it is impossible to upgrade unless you upgrade to the latest iOS version, nothing in between.
I also read that you can upgrade without losing your unlock if you use “tinyumbrella” to keep your current baseband. Not sure how it works though. I am pretty sure you can search it up and will find a way to do it.
    Good luck!
