DVD Shrink – Free Software to Backup DVD Discs

DVDShrink is a free software to backup DVD discs. It is not a DVD burning software. However it can work in conjunction with your DVD burner. The output from DVDShrink can be saved as a file on your hard drive, which you can later burn with any software of your choice.

Commercial DVD titles are often encrypted, which prevents you from either copying them to your hard drive. Even if you manage to copy, you may not be able to play the resulting files. DVDShrink overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms.

Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, onto a single recordable DVD-R disk.DVDShrink compresses or ‘shrinks’ such DVDs and allows you to re-author your DVDs. You can make your own compilation from one or more source DVDs, or select only the parts of a DVD which you want. Thus it helps decrease the usage of hard disk, without compromising on quality.
