Enable/Disable Recently Opened Items In Right-Click Explorer Icon On Taskbar

For faster access of recently opened files, Windows 7 by default settings stores and displays recently opened items in the Start menu and taskbar. If that intrudes your privacy, you can anytime disable it. Here is how you can make Windows 7 to display or not display recently opened items in the right-click menu of explorer on taskbar.

1. Right-click on blank area of taskbar and select “Properties”.

2. Click “Start Menu” tab.

3. In the “Privacy” section, turn ON the check box that says “Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar” to have “Recent” in the right-click menu of Explorer.
