FileZilla – Free and Secure FTP Client

Whether it’s for sharing images or a doing a regular backup online, FTP is an often used protocol for uploading and downloading of files from/to a server. FileZilla is an intuitive FTP client, easy enough for basic users who are not even aware of FTP. This free and multi-platform open source software has a Windows Explorer type of interface.

FileZilla’s Site Manager lets you store information regarding your FTP servers such as Host, Port, User Id, Password etc. By organizing the servers under different categories, you can quickly find and connect to one. With FileZilla’s side by side display of the local and remote directories and files, it’s easy to transfer files between your computer and the FTP server.

You can simply drag and drop files to transfer them between your local and remote folders. FileZilla allows resume and transfer of large files, greater than 4 GB. It allows you to set the upload and download speed limits for file transfers.
