Fix Error During Upgrade From Windows Vista To Windows 7
Windows 7 is a big success for Microsoft. It has been the best operating system from Microsoft so far. It’s obvious that many of Windows XP and Windows Vista customers will be upgrading to Windows 7. Windows Vista users who upgrade to Windows 7 may have failed installation.

According to Microsoft KBA975253, upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 may fail at exactly 62%. This problem occurs because the Iphlpsvc service stops responding during the upgrade. Additionally, Windows creates a file that is named system_drive:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log.
Microsoft has released a fix for this problem through it’s fix it service.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This fix should only be applied if upgrade fails exactly at 62%. Don’t apply it for any other failure during upgrade.
STEPS:

2. Operating System will be rolled back to Windows Vista.
3. Download Microsoft Fix it 50319. Run it and follow the wizard.
3. Attempt upgrade again. Upgrade should work fine.
