Free and Easy Online Image Sharing with imgur

Most of the image sharing websites like flickr, photobucket, imageshack etc., require you to register yourself before you upload and share images. Sometimes you may want to do a quick sharing of an image, without the need to log in. A free image sharing online utility imgur lets you share images by giving tiny url like links to uploaded images.

imgur (pronounced as imag-er) makes sharing images on the Internet as easy by letting users upload anonymously without any registration. You can just go to imgur, upload a picture (maximum size 10 MB) from your PC or web and get the url of the image to send it via email to a friend or post it in any forum or blog. imgur even lets you edit the image before uploading it. Some basic editing features provided are cropping, rotating, resizing and even changing the quality (only for jpeg) of images. Once done, you can submit the image automatically to reddit, digg, fark and delicious.

imgur gives links to small and large thumbnails of the image automatically when you upload it, making it even more convenient to share images. Every image will get it’s own deletion link after it is uploaded (see screenshot below). If you are serious about deleting the image after it’s usage, then make sure you save this deletion link as it is provided only once. Since images are uploaded anonymously, they cannot be attributed to any owner and so it makes their updation or deletion harder.
