Google’s Gmail, Calendar, Docs and Talk are all out of Beta

Google’s Application suite which hosts some of it’s most popular applications like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sites has been in Beta every since it’s inception two years ago. Gmail, on the other hand, has been beta for five years.

A good news for those of you who are waiting to see the Beta tag removed from your most often used web applications. Google applications are finally out of beta. You will no longer see the Beta in their logos starting today. This does not take away the Free price
tag from any of the Google Applications. Gmail is still free to use. A
missing link to Google Applications Standard Edition from the
Enterprise Apps home page has brought confusion to some users who
started to think that this service is no longer free.

However Google has confirmed that Google Applications Standard Edition is still free and the missing link was an inadvertent mistake.

For users who might miss the Beta tag on Google’s logos, Gmail has a lab feature which will let you put back Beta on it’s logo. Just choose Back to Beta feature in Gmail Labs. Makes us wonder how many would really do this!
