Want to get more screen space on the smaller sized screen of your net book or laptop? Hide the taskbar, and you will then have more space for an application launcher such as the Mac-style Rocket Dock. In Windows 7 especially, the newly designed Superbar with larger sized icons takes up more space.

Taskbar Eliminator, a tiny program lets you hide or show the taskbar in Windows 7/Vista/XP using keyboard shortcuts. Run the exe file, and the taskbar immediately disappears. No need to panic, as you can easily unhide the taskbar. Hitting the hotkey ALT + T toggles between hiding and showing the taskbar. For bringing Taskbar Eliminator’s window into focus, use the shortcut Control + ALT + T.

You can choose to run the program along with Windows by clicking the button ‘Start With WIndows’. Use the ‘Don’t Start With Windows’ button to remove the program from Windows Startup.
