How to Change Windows 7 Product Key

So you have recently purchased your copy of Windows 7. If you have already installed Windows 7 RTM on your system, but now want to switch to this newly purchased one, then you need to change the Product key. Here is how you can change or re-enter Windows 7 product key. 1. Click on Start Menu.

2. Right click on Computer and select Properties.

3. You should now be seeing Control Panel –> All Control Panel Items –> System in Windows 7 Explorer’s address bar.

4. In the bottom most section of Windows activation, you can view your current product ID. Click on Change product key next to it. 5. In the following window, enter your new Product Key which can be found on the installation disc holder inside the Windows 7 package. 6. Click ‘Next’ to activate Windows 7 with this new Product key.
