How To Copy Path of File Or Folder In Windows 7
Windows XP users do not have an easy way to copy a file or folder’s path to clipboard. You have to open the folder in Windows Explorer and copy it’s path from the address bar. This is a very tiring process, especially if you constantly need to copy and use file or folder paths.
Windows 7 as well as it’s predecessor Windows Vista have a convenient feature which lets you copy path of file/folder from right click context menu. However this feature remains hidden in both the OS and can be brought into visibility by a small trick.
Right click on a file or folder by pressing down the SHIFT key. You will then be able to find ‘Copy as path’ command in the right click context menu. Select this command to copy the file path to clipboard which can be pasted in any document or form field. A minor drawback of this feature is that it adds double quotes to the path string, thus requiring you to remove the quotes yourself after pasting it.
