Disable Aero in Windows 7 [How To]
Windows 7 Aero feature give you a very unique experience with translucency and glass effects. However if you have Windows 7 on a laptop or net book you are faced with the problem of fast battery drain due to this resource intensive feature.
Windows 7 by default uses an Aero theme. In order to save your battery you may want to temporarily disable Aero on Windows 7 by choosing a non-Aero theme for your desktop.
Here are the steps to turn off Aero on Windows 7.
1. Right click any where on your desktop and select ‘Personalize’.
2. In the ‘Personalization’ window, choose any of the available ‘Basic and High Contrast Themes’. Windows 7 applies the new theme automatically.
When you are at home with your laptop plugged in to a power source, you can quickly enable Aero on Windows 7 by selecting any of the available Aero Themes.
