Google has recently unveiled a free DNS service. Called the Google Public DNS, it can be used as an alternative to your DNS provider. For starters, DNS is like a phone book for websites. Whenever you open a website, your browser should first translate the domain name into an IP address. For example www.dkszone.net resides at IP address 74.125.53.121.

Google claims it’s DNS service can speed up your browsing experience, especially if you are living outside US and also improves your security. Normally you can switch to Google’s DNS service by configuring your network settings by using Google Public DNS IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. We will give you two methods for switching to Google DNS:

Method 1 (Automatic Way): Using Google DNS Helper Tool

Google DNS Helper which does only two things. It lets you easily switch to Google DNS, without any knowledge of IP configuration as well as restore your previous DNS settings whenever you want to. So you can go back and forth between the two DNS services before you choose to stick to the one which is the best for you.
