Turn Off Security Warnings/Messages In Windows 7

Windows XP and Windows Vista users know how irritating it is to constantly see security alerts and other messages in the taskbar system tray. Windows 7 users are lucky because their OS has a new feature which lets you disable those annoying warnings/messages such as ‘Firewall turned off’,  ‘Automatic Updates turned off’ or ‘Restart your Computer’.

Windows 7 Action Center, a newly added control panel item, gives you more control as well as granularity in choosing what messages you like to see or hide.

How To Disable System Tray Warnings In Windows 7?

1. From your Start menu, go to Control Panel –> System and Security –> Action Center.

2. In the left side panel of Action Center, click the option Change Action Center settings.

3. In the following screen, you will find two sections: Security messages and Maintenance messages. Uncheck all those messages which you don’t want to get notified for.
