A good news for all iPad users who are looking to jailbreak iPad 3.2.2, ever since the the iPad 3.2.1 jailbreak JailbreakMe had it’s PDF exploit fixed. If you have been following the news closely, then you might have been waiting for the GreenPois0n jailbreak to be released. But an unexpected turn of events saw the release of another boot level exploit, Limera1n.
Developed by Geohot, the iPhone hacker who earlier gave us blackra1n, the exploit used in Limera1n is different from SHAtter. GreenPois0n release is delayed, as it makes more sense to reserve SHAtter exploit for jailbreak of future devices. GreenPois0n will be released some time soon (ETA not yet confirmed), after including Limera1n exploit and extensive testing is done.

Jailbreak iPad 3.2.2
1. Download Limera1n (link at bottom).
2. Connect your device to your Computer via USB cable.
3. Launch limera1n. Click on ‘Make it ra1n’. 
4. Wait for your iPad to enter into recovery mode. 
Follow the instructions given by Limera1n.
5. Hold HOME + POWER buttons. 
6. Release POWER button when you are told to do so. 
7. Wait for your iPad to enter into DFU mode.
8. When you see the Limera1n logo on your iPad, you know that the jailbreak process is going on. Let limera1n finish it by injecting the boot level exploit into your device.
9. Once this is done, tap on the Limera1n icon on your iPad homescreen to install Cydia. This will let you have access to all jailbreak apps and tweaks. 
10. Restart your iPad.
Voila! You now have a completely jailbroken iPad running on iOS 3.2.2. This jailbreak is for life, as only a hardware release from Apple can fix this low level bootrom exploit.

It’s always recommended to back up data before you jailbreak.

Didnt work on my 3.2.2 factory ipad at first. I tried for more then 20 times… When it was supposed to show the drop it went to black and i didnt get the Limera1n / Cydia app.
So here’s what I did to fix it.
-Reboot PC
-hard reboot Ipad (Home + Power)
-Install latest Itunes
-OPEN ITUNES
-Connect Ipad 3.2.2
-Open Limera1n
-Now update…
For some reason it worked for me following these steps.. Good luck for those who don’t get it to work. let me know if this method also works for you.

Great call – your instructions worked for me. I tried about 10 times, and I think my problem was that I didn’t have the latest iTunes up & running. I tried that, and bam! worked great.

After I had jailbreak my ipad 3g firmware 3.2.2, there is no carrier signal although i tried to reset the network settings and even reboot the ipad many times.

Hello, the jailbrak worked for me on the first attempt. But after it the wi-fi symbol just beside the word iPad and the processing round symbol both desapeared. Did it happen to anyone else? How did you fix it?

Used the procedure and it turns up telling the ipad i jailbreaked. But using itunes 10 trying to transfer apps to the ipad – it turns up with error 8008001. I have an older ipad where i had to install stuff in cydia. Is that also the point here or how do i get rid of the 8008001 error

i followed all the steps here (updated iTunes etc) before i started, then i used the tool and now my iPad keeps saying in iTunes that my iPad is in repair modus. The ipad itself won’t boot anymore and shows me the itunes logo . I can’t repair the iPad in iTuns, i get the error that it can’t retrieve information from the apple repair server. anyone can help pleeease
Is your problem solved already? I had the same problem today and I tought that I could throw my Ipad away but I found a way to solf my problem. Start Limera1n and press let it rain. Start Itunes and with me it says that I have to restore my Ipad but becouse Itunes found my Ipad Limera1n found it to and ask me to try again now I was able to restore my Ipad with Itunes (Limera1n was still running and I said yes to try again) Hope It works for you to and sorry for my Englisch writing

What is meant with hardware release from Apple, does it mean that I cannot undue the jailbreak by restoring it with itunes?

What it means that your iPad can always be jailbroken, on any future firmware (say iOS 4.2, due to release very soon).
Only if Apple releases a new iPad and you buy that one, you would be needing a new jailbreak tool.
You can always do a factory restore on your iPad, no matter how many times you jailbreak it.
YES!!! finally, i tried numerous times but to no avail, apparently it worked for me by downloading latest itunes 10. something, and running limera1n again. It worked like a charm, the lime drop appeared and then shut down. Before that it only restarted my ipad with no lime drop. This time after powering it up i saw the limerain icon on the second page. Weird it showed a white blank icon but it said limera1n under it. Instaleld cydia and all is good!!!

I downloaded limera1n for my ipad 3.2.2, unzipped it, but cannot start it on my Mac (“cannot be run on your system” is not supported by your sysstem architecture something). If have a G5 with Mac OS X, version 10.5.8. Is this too outdated for limera1n?

I have just bought a 3g ipad Os 3.2.2 (Jailbroken using limera1n) but I cant transfer the apps in the ipad which I got from the shop into itunes 9. I have tried the transfer purchase method but however it sync nothing into my library even though its stated sync in progress plus it only took a few seconds to complete the sync. create a apple id for your ipad sign in to your apple id in itunes using your ipad ,connect to itunes in ur windows or mac in itunes there is an option called authorize this computer select that option enter your apple id and password it ll sync all your purchases,if it doesnt then create a new apple id and retry ..

I need help with my iPad. It came with OS3.3.2. I had successfully created a Snowbird 3.3.2 ipsw, but when I tried to restore, iTunes 10 did not allow it. When I tried to reboot the iPad it didn’t , so I had to restore to 4.2
I’ve tried to downgrade to 3.3.2, but iTunes woun’t let me. I also tried to restore the snowbird 332, but iTunes stays at “Verifying and checking with Apple…” in the status bar.
