LAN.FS Gives Chat, File Transfer, Remote Desktop Connectivity to Local Area Network
Most of us have our work stations connected to a LAN at work. It is very useful and productive to have a communication tool to let us send messages or files to colleagues while working. There are some separate Instant Messengers and File Transfer utilities which work on local networks. Wish to have an all in one tool?
Here is Local Area Network File Send (LAN.FS), which has an Instant Messenger, a File Transfer tool, as well as a Remote Desktop application all packaged into one software. This Windows Freeware lets you add computers from the local area network either manually or through an automatic scan.
You can transfer multiple files in parallel, use Local Area Network File Send’s Remote Desktop functionality to access and take full control of another computer on the network. You can also send commands such as Shutdown to a remote computer, use the program’s Task Manager to view or kill tasks running on it.
LAN.FS lets you browse the file system on other computers in the network and create/delete folders and files. Using it’s Remote Shell, you can work with a remote system’s command prompt just like it were on yours. Other features include secure file transfers with up to 256 bit AES encryption, instant message history, file transfer statistics including upload/download speeds etc. A very handy utility, which makes it easy even for beginners to take advantage of local area networks. LAN.FS is free for non-commercial use.
LAN.FS works with Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista and Windows 7
