Log into multiple Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo mail accounts with different ids in Internet Explorer 8
Browsers usually share the session related information like cookies, login information among the all opened tabs and windows. Hence it’s not possible to log into your multiple accounts of Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo mail etc., at the same time.
For example if you sign into your gmail account in a window, and then try to log-in to your another gmail account in a new window/tab, you will be automatically signed out of the first one. This happens not only to your mail accounts, but any website that is session oriented. An example is shopping on Amazon. This is called session merging.
IE8 can un-merge your sessions

Internet Explorer 8 has a new feature which handles sessions in a different way from it’s predecessor. It gives you the choice of opening multiple accounts belonging to the same service provider as different session windows. Earlier this was possible by opening those accounts in different browsers. In order to do this:
1. From the first session window, go to File –> New Session which opens up a new window.
2. Log into your second mail id in this window.
Command Line Option
Use iexplore.exe -nomerge if you are a frequent user of the windows command line to start IE in the ‘nomerge’ mode.
A Direct IE8 Shortcut
In case you would like to open IE 8 always in the “nomerge” mode then
1. Create a shortcut to it on your desktop.
2. Right click on this shortcut and select Properties.
3. Edit the target to include -nomerge as shown in the below screenshot.
