Celestial Aura was our first step in designing and giving away free WordPress themes. After getting very good reactions to it, we have been motivated to create another free theme for our readers. While Celestial Aura is a 3-column theme, Metisca, our second effort is a 2-column right sidebar theme optimized especially for Google Adsense 336×280 Ad unit and commonly available 300×250 Ad Unit’s from Advertisers.

Metisca is named after Metis, which stands for wisdom and knowledge. Every one is free to download and use this template. You can distribute this theme, but do give credit where it’s due.

The header has a simple yet elegant look with pearl white title and slogan text over a beautiful Sky Blue background. Metisca has a tabbed glassy black menu above the header. The drop down menu can have sub items with links to your pages and can be nested as deep as you wish.

An RSS icon has been placed at the right of the header which will attract your reader’s attention and help you get more subscribers.

The sidebar has been designed especially for Google Adsense’s block ad unit’s. It can accommodate both 300×250 and 336×280 Ad Unit’s. The article area of the theme is 565 pixels wide which is enough for you to accommodate big images. Metisca is an SEO-friendly theme which is compatible with all browsers, including Internet Explorer 6.
