Mozilla Prism: New Firefox Add-on
Mozilla labs has released a beta application named Prism. Prism is designed to create a better environment for running your favorite web-based applications such as your favorite website or mail client. With this application, you can create short-cuts of websites right on your desktop and access each of them in a dedicated window. Crashing of any one application will not affect others.
Prism is available in two forms viz. Firefox Add-on and Standalone Application.
Firefox Add-on
Prism can easily be added to Firefox browser just as any other extension. After installation, a browser restart enables the application. To access the application proceed as follows:
1. Open Firefox browser and then go to the website for which you desire to create a application.
2. Click Tools–>Convert Website to Application

3. Enter details of the short-cut like for example placing an short-cut icon on the desktop.
You are done. Now you can access your website as a application.
Standalone Application
This is similar to installing any application in your computer. After installation just enter the URL of the website you want to turn into an application, give it a name and select where you want the shortcut to be created, then click OK.
You can get Prism as a Firefox Add-on here.
Or Download Standalone version from here.
