Firefox keeps history of the Web sites and pages that you have visited. Using this, it shows suggestions as you type in the address bar. You can clear a single item or all items from address bar(also known as location bar) history.

Search suggestions help you to find out common phrases that other people have searched for. This feature is offered by the search engines (such as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.) and not by Firefox. Firefox merely retrieves the search suggestions from the search engines, and displays the list. By default Firefox comes enabled with Search Suggestions. In the below screenshot, you can see that Firefox shows ‘suggestions‘ besides the first item in the drop down list.

nPower from Tremont Electric is a vibration harvesting technology which can generate energy from walking, riding on a bicycle etc. Their first commercial product is the nPower PEG (Personal Energy Generator), a small lightweight electrical generator that produces power for handheld electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, iPods, GPS, etc.) from a person’s movements.
When you browse the web, browsers store lot of information in the form of webpage history, temporary internet files, cookies. All this information can later be retrieved and could prove to be harmful to your privacy. This scenario is very possible when you browse the web in an internet cafe or kiosk and forget to delete the information. A new feature of Internet Explorer 8 called InPrivate Browsing lets you surf the web without leaving any information behind.

Google Squared, a project of Google Labs is an experimental search tool that retrieves information from the web and presents it as an organized collection in the form of a table with multiple rows and columns. With Google Squared, Google goes a step in the direction of Wolfram Alpha in collecting and organizing information and presenting results visually.

A new Firefox Add-on for Bing is officially provided by the Bing team of Microsoft. By installing this Add-on, you can search on Bing.com from the Search Box of Firefox. Bing is a search engine launched by Microsoft that replaced their Live Search. It has a different approach from it’s predecessor in that it finds and organizes the answers you need so you can make faster, more informed decisions.
Like most browsers, Internet Explorer 8 gives the choice of multiple Search Providers. You can choose which provider you would like to use when you search for information on the Internet. When you first install Internet Explorer, you might have only one provider installed.
