How To Make DVD Video Out Of MP4 Or MKV Format Using DVD Flick
Most of the DVD Players connected to your television can’t play MP4, MKV formats. Hence it is a good idea to convert it and burn to DVD for enjoying the movie. There are many DVD authoring software which can do this for you. Some good ones of them are paid software. We choose DVD Flick, a completely free authoring software which does amazing conversion job with wide variety of features. Note that we are mentioning MP4 and MKV in title due to it’s popularity. DVD flick supports 40 common video formats such as AVI, WMV, H.264,…etc.
STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL TO CREATE DVD
1. Drag and drop your MKV or MP4 Video file to the DVD Flick interface.

2. After adding title, click “Edit title…” located at the right side of the DVD Flick interface.

3. In the Properties dialog box, you can specify various parameters including video, audio, chapters and subtitles.
General: You can key in name of the movie, choose aspect ratio and set thumbnail for the movie. This thumbnail will be shown for the movie while displaying chapters and titles at the beginning of the disc.

Chapters: Here you can specify number of chapters or simply specify time for creating chapters.

Other areas such as Video Sources, Audio tracks and Subtitle tracks allows you to add / remove media and subtitles for your compilation. If it’s a single movie in a DVD, you need not do any modifications in these threee areas. Keep default values and then click “Accept”.
4. Click on “Project settings”.

5. Project Settings:
5.a) General: In the general section you can specify which DVD you are using for burning the movie. You can choose from wide variety of disc including CD, DVD-R, DVD DL, and Mini DVD’s. This is the best part of it. You need not worry about video bitrate and other settings. Just specify the disc size, and DVD Flick will take care of the rest.
After choosing the disc type, click “Accept” button.
5.b) In Video section, choose format type. For Europe, Asia, Africa use PAL format. NTSC format is used by American countries. Choose “Auto-fit” for “Target Bitrate” option if you have specified DVD type in General settings above. Doing this, DVD Flick will automatically set bitrate of the video.

5.c) In the Audio section, you can specify number of channels for audio. Set Bitrate for audio. Depending on the input audio parameters, you can choose maximum Bitrate and 5.1 channel surround sound. If you are not sure of input parameters, choose “Auto” in both fields.

5.d) In the Burning option, specify whether to “Burn the project to disc” or “create ISO image”. Enter name for the DVD disc.

Click “Accept” to save your changes.
6. Click on “Menu settings” to configure DVD menu.
In Menu Settings, you can choose from available 6 kinds DVD menu. Or simply choose “None” to author DVD without menu. Use “Preview” button to get a glance of DVD Menu. Click “Accept” to save your changes.

7. Finally click on “Create DVD” to start conversion process.

DVD Flick will start encoding process. Depending upon the input media, it may take a while for the process to complete.

Meanwhile, DVD Flick let’s you enjoy Tetris game. Click “Entertain me” button to start enjoying it.
