Save Android Battery With Free JuiceDefender App
Want to save the battery of your Android phone when you are not connected to the Internet or any local network? Why not temporarily switch off the Wi-Fi and the data transmission, so that you can save both battery and bandwidth. While APNdroid, a free app, lets you toggle Internet (3G/EDGE/GPRS) manually, it cannot automate or schedule the battery saving mode by itself. It depends the expensive Locale app for automation.
Here comes JuiceDefender, a free Android app that lets you control APN and WiFi easily. It lets you schedule battery saving, based on different kinds of triggers, including low battery, a time schedule, screen mode and so on. JuiceDefender disables APN/Wi-Fi whenever your battery level falls below 15%, and re-enables it when you recharge your device.
You can also schedule this app to run in the background and do the turn off/turn on process once every 15 or 30 minutes. The app is intelligent enough to let you enjoy your browsing and tweeting, irrespective of the battery trigger and the scheduled events.

JuiceDefender is available as a free download from the Android Market.
