Skylight: Small and Lite Application Launcher for Windows

Yet another application launcher for Windows, Skylight from CandyLabs is a small, lite and quick-launching program that can open up programs or documents with a few keystrokes relieving you of all the mouse clicks that are needed to navigate through the ever-increasing folder hierarchies to find your favorite program or document. Skylight is based on the Microsoft .NET framework and runs like a script which is programmed on hotkeys.

It is similar to Launchy in
more ways than just starting with the ALT+SPACE hotkey. For example if
you want to launch Internet Explorer, then press ALT + Spacebar key,
which brings up Skylight. Just as you start typing “Int” you will be
able to see a list of all programs/files that start with these letters.
With a single click you can then choose IE from the list.

Skylight’s ease of use lies in it’s hotkeys; Holding down the spacebar cycles through the results, holding the Tab key gives you all actions that you can perform like opening the file or starting the program and finally pressing Enter runs the selected program or opens the selected folder/file.

Other features include a full fledged Desktop Search for searching inside documents, emails etc, an built-in calculator, integrated Web Search (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc), filtered results, download and playback of MP4 video files from YouTube, integrated instant messenger (IM) client, efficient media indexing etc.
Unlike Launchy which has a 3.9 MB executable file , Skylight is much smaller at less than 1 MB.
Also it is light on system resources.
