Switching to Gmail is Now Made Easy

Google Buzz

If you have ever switched Mail account to a different provider, you would definitely have felt the frustration in doing everything right from importing all contacts to forwarding mails manually. Google has added a new feature to Gmail which makes migration of email and contacts from other email providers like Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL etc much easier, requiring users to give only their username and password in order to automate the process.

At present this feature is available only for newly-created Gmail accounts for a period of 30 days, giving users a chance to test and see if they like it. However, if you have created your Gmail account with-in past 30 days, this feature is available to you till you complete the one month period.

New users can see the ‘Accounts and Import’ tab (previously only ‘Accounts’ tab) in the ‘Settings’ page. Here they can choose to import contacts and forwarding of existing and future mails.

Old Gmail users will have to wait for a while to access this feature as Google is planning to roll it out in the near future.
