Synchronize Folders across Hard Drives with Free µSynClone
µSynClone is a very basic and free tool for synchronizing folders. You can create backups of your data and keep them updated without manually creating the folders yourself and copying. µSynClone can even replicate the whole directory structure for your backup files.
The interface is very simple, with only the core functionality of synchronization. Choose the source and destination folders and click ‘Synchronize’. You can give multiple source folders, but only a single destination backup folder. The text box can be edited to add or remove folders as necessary.

µSynClone will copy only new or modified files (depending on the file size and timestamp) to the destination folder. Also, if any missing files or folders are detected in the sources, these will be deleted from the destination folder.
The File –> “Restore…” option lets you do reverse synchronization, that is copy back the files from the destination backup folder to the original source folder. However you have to be careful when you do this as you may overwrite the newer versions of the file in your source folder with the older backup version. You can see the logs of the synchronization from File –> “View Log…“.
By starting µSynClone with parameter “-s“, you can make it synchronize and exit silently after the process is done.
