Unlock For iPhone 4, 3GS Baseband 05.14.02, 2.10.04 Coming Soon!

Here is some very good news for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS unlockers. If you go by @sherif_hashim, then you are soon going to see an unlock for iOS 4.1, iOS 4.2 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on baseband 05.14.02 and 2.10.04.

Till now iPhone 4 unlockers had to update to iOS 4.1 without upgrading baseband using TinyUmbrella first, before they proceed with Limera1n jailbreak and then unlock with Ultrasn0w 1.1-1. iPhone 3GS users could jailbreak using PwnageTool which restores to custom IPSW firmware while preserving current baseband.

Well, the wait for iPhone unlock on newer basebands 05.14.02 and 2.10.04 is soon going to be over, as Sherif Hashim, iPhone hacker has come up with a new crash that can unlock these on iPhone 4 and 3GS.

So there you go, a confirmed answer regarding a possible unlock for the new basebands. But he expects it to release only after official release of iOS 4.2.

So you may be seeing the new unlock in a month or more, again going by his tweets.

The Dev Team has confirmed that the new Ultrasn0w unlock for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G baseband 05.14.02 will be released by Sunday, November 28. See this article for more details:

Update 2: Ultrasn0w Unlock Available!

Unlike earlier expectations, unlock for baseband 05.14.02 for iPhone 3GS, 3G is not released. However a unique method to unlock iPhone 3GS/3G is given. Here is how you can do it.

1. First update baseband to 06.15.00 on your iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G. Yes, this bb can be unlocked by the latest version of Ultrasn0w. Here are the guides:
