Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 4.3 On iPad [Video Demo]
iOS 4.3 has been jailbroken using the unofficial PwnageTool Bundles on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, and iPod Touch 4G. However this jailbreak is tethered, meaning which you will have to boot into tethered mode every time you restart your device.
Now an untethered exploit for iOS 4.3 has been found by Stefan Esser, an iPhone hacker from Germany. He is the same guy who earlier worked on an iOS jailbreak called antid0te which used ASLR to improve the security of jailbroken devices to the same level as that of non-jailbroken ones.
There is no ETA given for the release of this untethered jailbreak, which is currently in Alpha stage. When he releases, Stefan believes the exploit could become a part of Redsn0w.
He does not want to release the exploit for iOS 4.3, as he believes that Apple would definitely release iOS 4.3.1 in the coming days to take care of the Safari Browser exploit found in iPhone 4 by Pwn2Own 2011 Contest winner Charlie Miller. A current release would give Apple the opportunity to patch this exploit too in iOS 4.3.1.
Another hackers Pod2g also has found a working exploit for untethered iOS 4.3 jailbreak.
