View and Analyze JPEG Compression, Quality, EXIF Data With JPEGsnoop

If you are a serious photographer you need to do a review of your camera work to improve your skills. Analyzing EXIF data of photos lets you find out which Camera settings have produced the best results. JPEGsnoop is a Windows freeware which can give a detailed report of a digital image’s EXIF and ITPC data. JPEGsnoop can extract and examine JPEG images contained in .THM, .AVI, .DNG, .MOV as well as PDF files.

The information given by JPEGsnoop might look scary for a basic user. It’s report includes EXIF metadata, quantization table matrix, chroma subsampling, Huffman tables, Maker Notes, RGB histograms, JPEG JFIF markers etc.

Advanced photographers however will love this utility which can be used to easily identify a manipulated or edited image, to identify JPEG quality, resolution and compression settings used by the camera which saved it , to identify Photoshop quality settings (if the image was saved Photoshop), to detect errors in corrupt JPEG Photos etc.
