Windows 7 And Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta Available For Download
Windows 7 SP1 has been awaited since quite a time, now that Windows 7 has become quite a huge hit with PC users. Microsoft has finally announced a Beta version of SP1 for Windows 7 as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 at the Worldwide Partner Conference 2010. While the final version of Windows 7 SP1 will be released in the first half of 2011 (that’s a long way to go!), the SP1 Beta is currently available for download.
Like all Service Packs, Windows 7 SP1 Beta also clubs all those security and other updates that were previously delivered via the Windows Update. Aimed at IT pros and developers, Windows 7 SP1 is available only for RTM version of Windows 7 in both 32bit and 64 bit versions.
In order to download Windows 7 SP1 Beta or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta, you need to register with a Windows Live ID with the Microsoft TechNet Evaluation Center. Make sure you select ‘Developer’ as your occupation, otherwise you may be denied access.

A verification Email will be sent to your Windows Live ID inbox, which you have to confirm in order to proceed to the download links. You can either download both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions using the Windows Update, or the 1.2 GB ISO standalone (offline) file of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
