Shortcuts to launch icons on the Taskbar

Windows 7 maps the first 10 icons on the taskbar to numbers 1, 2, … 9, 0. By pressing [Windows Key]+1, [Windows Key]+2, etc. upto [Windows Key]+9 and [Windows Key]+0 you can launch the first 10 applications.

How to rearrange the icons on the Taskbar?

Drag and drop the icons on the taskbar to rearrange them to the desired position as shown in the video below.

Taskbar Traversing

• Use [Windows Key] +T to shift focus to the taskbar.
• Now use either [Windows Key] +T or the arrow keys to select the application you’re interested in.
• Just hit Enter to launch it.
• Press Esc to come out of this mode.
