Windows Media Player 11 Not Responding Error When Trying To Play DVD After Windows 7 PC Resumed From Sleep

Consider the following scenario, you have played a DVD in Windows Media Player 11 on your PC, paused it and put your Computer into sleep for a while. After resuming your PC, you tried to play the DVD again. In such a case, you may get an error which says ‘Windows Media Player is not responding‘.

Microsoft has acknowledged this problem in it’s article KB977609 and has a given a workaround for it, which is to simply exit and restart WMP 11. A fix for this problem is not yet given by Microsoft. We hope that Microsoft will release a hot fix for this problem.
